The New 2009 Yamaha WR250F, Fun, Easy-to-Ride Package

The new 2009 Yamaha WR250F's nimble aluminum frame features geometry and rigidity that enhance overall feel. It is lighter on its feet while hanging onto its first-rate stability at speed. The last year redesigned airbox is accessed by single left-side fastener. Radiators are larger, hang from reinforced brackets for better crash survivability. Yamaha YZ-style bodywork keeps the WR250F looking up to date.

The 249cc liquid-cooled, DOHC four-stroke engine with five titanium valves delivers excellent low- and midrange power, with high over-rev capacity and crisp, linear throttle response. Special WR camshafts, carburetion, and exhaust and ignition systems work together to produce a quick-revving engine with great low- and midrange power. 37mm Keihin FCR flat-slide carburetor with throttle position sensor (TPS) ensures ultra-precise fuel/air mixing and lightning-quick throttle response.
You could kickstart if you wish, but the start button is always there, ready to thumb the 250cc to life. Wave-cut rotors decrease unsprung weight by 85grams and shrug off mud build-up better than conventional discs. Redone exhaust works with engine mods, has smaller-diameter headpipe and shorter, more tucked-in silencer.

The new 2009 Yamaha WR250F is also fitted with a bunch of goodies normally sourced from aftermarket, such as a headlight that actually does the job at night, a full-on enduro computer, a top-notch aluminum kickstand and wave rotors front and rear.

Alloy frame and all, the new 2009 Yamaha WR250F shaved just little less then 500grams compared to the steel-frames. When riding it, though, the Yamaha WR250F feels like it lost 10 kilo. With its newfound nimbleness, its traction-seeking powerband and its more spacious riding position, there's a lotto like in the WR250F. For many of us, it's all the off-roader we really need, the right bike for the job.
