The New 2009 Yamaha Motorcycle Line-Up

Finally, the wraps are off the new model line-up that the motorcycling world has been waiting for. There's something for everyone in Yamaha's new 2009 range, from the radical new MotoGP-inspired Yamaha YZF-R1 to the all-round charms of the Yamaha XJ6 Diversion, and from the new wave Yamaha XVS950 Midnight Star cruiser to the cool Yamaha WR125X and Yamaha WR125R for youths who really know where they're going. Every one of them designed and built with Yamaha's renowned Art of Engineering philosophy at their heart.

Just over a decade ago, Yamaha rewrote the rulebook for liter supersport bikes with the very first Yamaha YZF-R1. Now Yamaha shakes things up like never before with the astonishing 2009 Yamaha R1 - a change in supersport performance. At its heart is radical, breakthrough technology - a MotoGP-derived 182 PS crossplane crankshaft in-line four engine that delivers uneven firing intervals for brilliantly linear power delivery and traction like never before. The latest Yamaha R1 is packed with MotoGP-inspired tech, from the new Deltabox frame to the D-mode Variable Map Function with three different performance maps.2009 Yamaha XJ6 Diversion
For riders who want to do it all without owning a garage full of bikes, Yamaha has created a totally new 600. The Yamaha XJ6 Diversion is an all-rounder that delivers real riding pleasure whether you're leisure riding or commuting, touring or cruising, going solo or two-up. The Yamaha XJ6 Diversion was created for perfectly balanced performance. You'll notice that the moment you climb aboard: low seat height and low weight instantly put you in control, feeling confident, while superbly smooth power delivery and easygoing handling characteristics make every outing a fun ride.

If you're headed out on the street, you want to be heavy on the style, light on the feel. Enter the Yamaha XVS950A Midnight Star. It's a cruiser, not a bruiser, a cool combo of high-torque V-twin engine and easy-handling long-and-low chassis for the wild-at-heart rider who knows that looking good and feeling good isn't meant to be hard work.
