The New Honda Wave 125i model 2008

The Honda Wave is probably the motorcycle with the longest history, dating back to the time of the introduction of the Honda Super Cub, which was 1958. The Honda Super Cub and the newest Honda Wave 125i model have little in common.

Looking at the technology behind the newest Honda Wave 125i we can see that since the introduction of Honda's first exported motorcycle, Honda developed the Honda Cub/Wave line into a motorcycle of high technology standard. The Honda Wave series is known around the world under several different names so is the Honda Wave also known as Honda NF series, Honda Innova or Honda Supra in Indonesia.

The Honda Wave 125i comes with a 4 Stroke, OHC, 124.9cc air cooled engine, with a 52.4mm bore and 57.9mm stroke, with a compression ratio of 9.3:1.It is interested to see that Honda selected heavy-duty ceramic coated pistons for the Honda Wave 125i, ceramic coated pistons or cylinder shafts are normally only found in high performance racing bikes.

The Honda Wave 125i comes with front disc brake and rear drum break. And there are in fact two Honda Wave 125i models the NF125C which has a kick starter and the NF125MC which comes with electric Starter and kick starter.

The history of the Honda small engine electronic fuel injection system used on the Honda Wave 125i, was first introduced on the "Honda Pantheon" model which used the newly developed PGM-FI and was marketed in the European 125cc class, which is the most popular small motorcycle engine class in Europe.

Then, in an attempt to apply the technique to the Asian market where demands are high for small engine motorcycles, the new model Honda Wave 125i as introduced in Thailand, having the PGM-FI. Thailand is maybe the first country to see the wonders of the PGM-FI on the Honda Wave 125i but we are sure that the Wave will go one and quickly will hit the neighboring countries motorcycle markets.

where did you buy your Honda Wave i?
I bought mione at Mityon Motors in pattaya, thailand and not only did they throw in (for free) both a front grocery
basket (very handy), but also, a U-shaped guard the protects the paint finish.

I added oversized nitrogen-filled rear shocks.
I weigh 110kgs and this bike really flies.
