The 2014 Yamaha XVS950 Bolt Set to be Launched
The XVS950 Bolt is powered by a 942cc air-cooled, 4-stroke, V-twin, SOHC, 4-valve engine with a bore and stroke of 85mm x 83mm, with a 9.0:1 compression ratio, and is equipped with Yamaha's latest electronic fuel-injection system which comes with Idling Speed Control, the EFI uses a single 35mm throttle body. The engine is teamed with a 5-speed gearbox and for the final drive the chain is replaced by a belt.
The engine’s look is highly detailed, with polished cylinder fins and beautifully chrome-plated cylinder head covers, for an exceptional appearance sure to be noticed.
The Yamaha XVS950 Bolt is a compact and low to ground, the slightly oversquare engine is tuned for low- and mid-range torque for strong acceleration in city traffic. Inside, the engine has forged aluminum pistons, four valves per cylinder, and a rubber-damped clutch.
For suspension, Yamaha was conservative and used noting unexpected, front telescopic forks with diameter of 41mm and a travel of 135mm and for the rear a dual shock with a travel of 109mm and 'piggyback style' gas cylinder. The front brake is a single 320mm hydraulic disc and the rear brake is a 298mm hydraulic disc.
For fuel consumption Yamaha claims that the XVS950 Bolt does 20 km/l, which is not too bad for a air-cooled 950cc V-Twin. The fuel tank of the XVS950 holds 17 liters fuel.
For style the round LED taillight gives the rear-end of the Yamaha XVS950 Bolt a distinctive appearance. The Yamaha XVS950 V-Twin will be available in Mat Gray Metallic and High-Sparkle Green. Currently prices and more detailed information are unknown, but we will keep everybody informed. The green in the picture is maybe not the color that will be launched in Thailand.
