Thai AP-Honda, Southeast Asia lowest performer
Honda Indonesia's motorbike sales are seen rising 46.6 percent in June despite the government's decision to increase fuel prices a month earlier, Indonesia's largest motorcycle producer said on yesterday. Astra Honda Motor, Indonesia's Honda manufacturer and distributor did not stick with smaller engine motorcycles, one of Indonesia's Astra Honda newest products is the powerful Honda Tiger a 200cc powerhouse which can comply with Honda's World Wide Green product specifications.The Honda Tiger 200cc, with its simple, but O so effective, 2-valve 196.6cc air-cooled engine is capable to impress the worlds hardest motorcycle critics. Its emissions are far within any standard on the planet, the kilometers per liter will make everybody wonder why not ride this bike. And on style, it is a good looker, with its little over 137kg and slim upper body, and perfect weight distribution it is a bike well made.
Johannes Loman, marketing director at Astra Honda Motor, told the news media that total motorcycle sales in June are likely to rise to 542,887 units from 370,887 units in the same month a year ago.
Astra Honda, which manufactures and distributes Honda motorcycles in Indonesia, said its own sales jumped 78.31 percent to 285,038 units last month.
In India, Hero Honda, the world's largest motorcycle maker, sold 3.337 million motorcycles and scooters in the year ended March 31, compared with 3.336 million motorcycles a year earlier. Stile some analysts and industry experts in India have said they still expect this year's motorcycle sales to top 5 million units, compared to 4.7 million units in 2007.
