The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R Arrives in Thailand
Suzuki did a cracking job updating the Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R some time ago, when it sorely needed a spruce up. This thing is more of a 'Hayabusa II', it may not have moved on much in terms of looks, but this new Suzuki Busa is leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessor. It's both far more capable and comfortable. And fast. Fast doesn't really expresses how fast, this thing is really fast!We didn't find a use for the switchable power map on the Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R, but with all that grunt on tap, it's not a bad idea. Hyperbike beginners especially apply here.
The new 1340cc engine is ludicrously smooth by comparison, but the 145Nm digs the fat rear tire into the Tarmac and launches you senseless into a new dimension of speed and acceleration. The Suzuki Hayabusa engine is indeed a masterpiece of Japanese engine building.
The new Suzuki Hayabusa engine, the displacement is up by 41cc, this is done by increasing the stroke with 2mm. Compression up to 12.5:1. The engine is equipped with Titanium valves which save weight and increases durability, wit twin injectors. The throttle bore is now down to 44mm. New ultra-fine atomizing injectors, a revised exhaust valve angle, and polished intake ports, all enhance combustion efficiency. The exhaust has pre-chamber under the engine that reduces the weight high in the seat unit.Tucked behind the big bins, the riding position is claimed to be similar to the previous Hayabusa, but it feels spacier. I can ride this new Suzuki Busa much further than the last version.
The brakes stopping the 220kg Busa mass are leagues better than before, and they work far longer before fading on track.
The new Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R quickly finds a good balance in the dry and remains reassuring in the wet. The suspension is plush, so the bike glides over bumps in the road, while still managing to feel remarkable focused.
The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R, now available in Thailand for 830,000 Baht, you can get luggage on it, carry a passenger and kick ass on fast sweeping mountain roads. Or it'll carry you to work through the drizzle, on the leash, but behaving.
