KTM factory riders Tyla Rattray (South Africa) and Sven Breugelmans (Belgium) led home the world championship fields in MX2 and MX3 while young French rider Valentin Teillet wrapped up the MX European championship one round before completion of the season. KTM won the Manufacturer's title in both classes MX2 and MX3. Marek Dabrowski of Poland secured the open title in the Rally World Championship, while his countryman Jacek Czachor took his second consecutive title in the 450cc class.
KTM won the Manufacturer's title in both classes of the Rally World Championship.
In Supermoto, Germany's Bernd Hiemer coasted home on asphalt and offroad to bring home the S1 title while in the USA, Manxman David Knight dominated the GNCC competition to take the title. American Russell Bobbitt fired up the USA competition and emerged as national Enduro champion.
The season's balance is impressive: the seven rider Championship titles and six manufacturer titles in 2008 now bring KTM's overall list of first class honors to a grand total of 159 world titles.
