Last night, by mistake, I used WD40 Degreaser to clean my bike’s chain. The chain feels very rough and even after several oil treatments it is not as flexible as it was before.

It was probably not the best idea to use a de-greasing product for cleaning your motorcycle chain. Most modern motorcycle chains have small rubber between the link plate and the inside roller link plate. This small rubber components are to improve lubrication and are vitally important for the chain to operate correctly.

I have no idea if the WD40 Degreaser is harmful for rubber. I would not recommend cleaning a motorcycle chain with a degreasing product.

The degreacer has damaged the seals of your chain, you need to buy a new one
