Lifan is a much misunderstood company. They are a huge multi billion dollar company that build bikes for honda as well as Yamaha in their factories as well as others. bikes big and small as they make 500's and 1000's alike. For their labeled bikes, they usually give you much more for less over their counterparts. Such as the Lifan Ares 110 is a good value over the Wave yet I feel they missed the mark a little on the KP150 and the tires are a weak point and could have done better

The Lifan KP150 is not a sportsbike, it's more like a sportier commuter if I need to classify it. I not think that Lifan made a mistake with creating the KP150, it has a good price (59,000 THB) it has a modern look, feels solid and road handling is excellent. Also the fuel economics is very good and for a 150cc it really has some grunt...

If we look at the statistics for motorcycles in Thailand, the most motorcycles are sold in the family/all-round range, the amount of sportsbikes sold makes many motorcycle manufacturers wondering if they even should make them...

We did not hear much for the last year from Lifan if it comes to innovation, this is partly because most of the resources where relocated to produce cars. Some Lifan car models became unexpectedly more popular than was expected. The main cause was a safety test by a European test agency, which found that several Lifan models could be compared to European cars on the level of safety and environment and exhaust emission standards.

We probably can expect more new products from Lifan for 2014...

The Keeway RKV200 also costs the same 59,000 baht.

I never seen the Lifan 150, would be interesting to see a head-to-head review of both.

but I've seen many of the keeway RKV200 on the streets, it looks nice and sounds nice too Smile

The Keeway RKV200 and the Lifan KP150 are indeed very similar, the Lifan has a smaller engine size but don't let that fool you. The 150cc liquid-cooled engine performs well and is a bit modern design than what we see on the Keeway RKV200.

Both bikes are targeting the same group of commuters, and as we have had the pleasure to ride both of them we would have a hard time to say which one is better...

The Lifan KP150 is also a bit heavier than the Keeway RKV200 - 138kg vs 120kg.
