Suzuki Returns to MotoGP in 2014

Suzuki had pulled the plug on their MotoGP project at the end of 2011 owing to a tight financial situation and very impressive finishing times. However, the Japanese factory is all set to re-enter the world of Grand-Prix racing in 2014 with a complete new motorcycle.

Suzuki have made their intention clear about the participation and have already started testing a prototype of their MotoGP motorcycle at the Motegi circuit in Japan.

Suzuki will participate in the official MotoGP post-race test at Catalunya, Aragon and Valencia to assess the motorcycle's performance against its true rivals. Apart from these, Suzuki will also conduct a couple of private tests in Europe. It will be a two-rider team, but none of them has been confirmed as yet.
Dorna, MotoGP rights holder and promoter, has made it clear that it doesn't want new team entries for the 2014 season, which means Suzuki will have to run its project through a non-factory team currently present in the pits.
