New Race Rules - WSB and BSB

2014 will see the Supertwins class added to BSB racing, while WSB sees a new cap on engine use, among other changes implemented by the ruling body, the FIM, and initiated by Dorna.

The Supertwin news is great. We've not has a new class (other than one make series and tweaks to existing classes) for years, and the racing is always exciting in the little twins series. It ain't cheap, as it set out to be, but it's certainly accessible and should nurture young talent.
Meanwhile, WSB teams will have a cap of eight engines to use over the course of the year. Coupled to the one-bike ruling introduced this year, this rule is hoped to bring costs down. New caps on brake and suspension spend will also come into force next year.

This can only work with other regulations, however, and we await to see the results. Like in BSB (and then dropped), an EVO class is being introduced to limit engine work to superstock-type levels. Let's hope the show still entertains.
