KTM and CFMoto - a Chinese Adventure
KTM Teams with CFMoto to build motorcycles in China. In a surprise move that further extends KTM's ever-increasing global reach, the Austrian manufacturer inked a deal with privately owned CFMoto to begin assembling certain KTM models in China but for now only for sale in that market – the largest motorcycle market in the world.This process will commence in early 2014 at the CFMoto factory in Hangzhou, 160 kilometers southwest of Shanghai, and will initially entail complete knock-down (CKD) kits of the KTM 200 Duke and 390 Duke models, shipped directly from KTM partner Bajaj's manufacturing location in Pune, India.
CFMoto will also import fully assembled, Austrian-made KTM models, including the KTM 690 Duke and the fortcoming 1290 Super Duke R, for sale in China via a dedicated KTM dealer network.
